The Y is a powerful association of men, women, and children of all ages and from all walks of life joined together by a shared passion: to strengthen the foundations of community. With a commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living, and fostering a sense of social responsibility, the Y ensures that every individual has access to the essentials needed to learn, grow and thrive.
At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Through our focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, we embrace and nurture the promise that lies in all of us. The Y gives children, families and individuals the support and resources they need to be more healthy, confident, connected and secure. Anchored in more than 10,000 neighborhoods around the country, the Y has the long-standing relationships and physical presence not just to promise, but to deliver, lasting personal and social change. Each year, 21 million people of all ages and from all walks of life turn to one of the more than 2,700 YMCAs in the U.S. for programs that nurture the potential of children and teens, improve health and well-being and enable people to give back and support neighbors.
Though the world may be unpredictable, one thing remains certain the Y is, and always will be, dedicated to building healthy, confident, connected and secure children, adults, families and communities. As a nonprofit, this is our commitment. We count on the generosity of our members and partners to help us continue our vital work.
